What are your hope(s) for our work together as an Early Childhood Collaborative; Why are you a member?
“We are concerned about ACEs and their long-term consequences. Working with victims and survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking, and stalking, we often hear from childhood survivors of sexual assault, who have carried that burden their entire life, and are still struggling with the stigma, the trauma, and the shame. We have worked with parents whose children are struggling in school, have anxiety, ptsd, and/or depression, or may be presenting with problematic behaviors because they were exposed to violence in the home. It is a huge problem, and our hope is that through collaboration, we can create a platform that connects parent resources and information that can be helpful to them earlier rather than later. Possibly to the extent of preventing potential ACEs from ever occurring.”
